Tag-Cloud generated from favorite tags

Ten days ago we have started asking you to provide tags for 18734 artworks with our Tagging-Tool. So far we have received more than 7060 tags for more than 2060 paintings. This is really, really great. Your help is highly appreciated.

We have created a simple tag-cloud from all the keywords that were provided. These are the most used tags (the larger the word, the more often it was used):

VSEM @ VSMM 2010

From October 20th to 23th I visited the 16th International Conference on Virtual Systems and Multimedia (VSMM) in Seoul, Korea to present the full paper “Design and Evaluation of a Serious Game for Immersive Cultural Training“. Altogether it was a very interesting conference in a beautiful and modern city. The subject areas went from Virtual Heritage Documentation, Computer Graphics Vision, Robotics up to Digital Museums. Especially talks about Digital Museum Design turned out to be the most innovative and they will definitely provide a great source for our work now. Concerning my paper, about 15 people joined the session (which was approximately the average attendance for a session). The talk went fine and people were interested in our work and the Serious Game that we will implement for the VSEM project. You can download the slides from my talk from the publication section or directly from here. Paul Bourke, Research Associate at iVEC (University of Western Australia), asked me for my presentation slides because he wants to show parts of my work to his students. The conference banquet was ok, even though a little short and the buffet was, let’s put it this way, “interesting”. I had a longer talk with two German artisits about Serious Games and the possibilities of Virtual Worlds and learning environments.

From a touristic point of view, the trip to the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) was a highlight. The DMZ is a strip of land running across the Korean Peninsula that serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea. I visited Imjingak Park, Dora Observatory, Dorsan Station and entered the 3rd tunnel. If you ever plan to visit Seoul, this is definitely a must-see.

Help us get tags for artworks

When you have some spare time, please consider surfing to

This is our platform for providing tags (keywords) for artworks. Those tags will later be integrated into our 3D environment.

You can freely choose a username, we won’t record any personal sensitive data. We will however save a cookie, so that you can easily reuse your username. Afterwords you will be shown an artwork. Please describe whatever comes to your mind when looking at the picture. Please insert one keyword per line, and hit “Tag!” or ENTER. You can add as many tags per picture as you like. The more tags, the better for us. Tags need not necessarily be restricted to English. You can even rate the picture on a 5-star rating scheme. Afterwards just press “Next Picture!” and tag as many artworks as you like. If absolutely nothing comes to your mind, simply hit “Next Picture!”. See the attachment below.

Feel free to forward the link to your friends, family and colleagues.
